About Me

My name is Hannah and I have always had a keen interest in people and how we become who we are. I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am an experienced counsellor interested in supporting people to fulfil their potential. I work in a variety of ways, face to face, via telephone or via Zoom, whichever suits the needs of the individual I am working with.

I initially trained in physical education as I wanted to encourage life long participation in physical activity. After my own illness and injury, I realised that there is more to someone's health and wellbeing than just being active.

I am also a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience as a classroom practitioner, pastoral lead and a senior mental health lead. Due to my interest in the area, I became a Youth Mental Health First Aider soon after it was established in the UK. I saw the impact this training had with the young people and adults in my school and became a qualified instructor in 2017.

My Approach

I am an integrative counsellor and use three main approaches in my work; Gestalt, Person Centred Approach (PCA) and Transactional Analysis (TA). I hold a Humanistic philosophy; I believe we all have an individual and unique potential and sometimes therapy is helpful to get back on track. I draw on my knowledge and experience to find out the best way of working with you as an individual.

Counselling provides a non-judgement and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, behaviours and feelings. It may be that you are experiencing difficulty or uncertainty and this is what has driven you to seek counselling. Our sessions will enable you to safely discover, identify and empower you to be able to make the changes you want. My role in our work together is not to advise but to accompany you on your journey and for us to process your experiences in partnership.
